Can You Save As A Shopaholic? π€β οΈπ¨
Helloooo
I hope youβre all doing well while the market ticker dances its dance! Before we plunge into the content, I want to know:
What I was up to:Β It's not news to you guys that I LOVE shopping ποΈ Well, with Rakhi just around the corner, my shopping spree gets a legit upgrade! π I've been on a mission to find the perfect Rakhi gifts for my little one's adorable sisters (the realization hit me just hours ago that I now have a son who has to gift his sisters, LOL). This had me scrolling through various apps and brands, hunting for the ultimate deals β you know, the ones that scream "smart shopper." Iβve been comparing prices, and scouting for those sweet reward points and whatnot β I'm all in!
Market ka haal: Global winds weren't in our favor, and our market faced a tough uphill battle. The Fed's latest minutes revealed a surprising split in opinions amongst members about further rate hikes leading to the Indian market being kicked off the week with a weak opening, tracing losses from international markets.
On the home front, the retail inflation bombshell dropped, shooting up to a 15-month high of 7.44 percent - thanks to soaring vegetable prices, kickstarted by the humble tomatoes a while ago. A first since February, this surge also broke through the RBI's 2-6 percent target range.
Nifty 50 stumbled below 19,400, with the Sensex down 341.27 points, and like this wasn't enough, the Indian Rupee plummetted a wee bit too. Get ready for another week of market drama! This is just like getting on a roller coaster, minus the fun. The ride has to and will stop after the sh*t show, we just gotta be patient and pull through without acting on impulse.
Humara Gyaan:Β Brands capitalize on emotions. Any little festivity calls for a sale, masquerading on our screens as an unmissable deal. The Independence Day sale is just about to wrap up, and we already have Rakshabandhan offers beginning to peek out! If you're a shopaholic like me, this is for you!
For those of you who are gifting to others:
Credit Card Offers: If you have a credit card, check out which site offers you the best discount and also check if you can put your reward points to use to buy something nice!
Use Coupons and Promo Codes: Before hitting the "buy" button, search for online coupons or promo codes. Many retailers offer these codes, helping you save a pretty penny.
Group Gifting: Collaborate with friends or family members to pool resources for a larger gift. This way, you can contribute to something special without bearing the full cost alone.
DIYs: Tap into your creative side and craft thoughtful, personalized gifts that can be cherished for years to come. Handmade cards, home-baked treats, or custom crafts show you care without blowing your budget.
If you're buying things for yourself during a sale:
Temptation lurks everywhere, from irresistible Instagram ads to those just-too-perfect finds. Here's what you can do: if you stumble upon something you'd buy in a heartbeat, click on it, add it to your cart, and then exit the app. Hold on, don't purchase it yet. Keep it untouched, for 24 hours, a week, or even a month. The longer you resist, the better.
Here's the magic: most of the time, you'll forget all about it. No impulse buy is necessary! After a while, if it's still on your mind and your life feels incomplete without it, go ahead and make that purchase. But here's the kicker: 90% of those 'must-haves' won't stand the test of time. It's all about stepping back and asking yourself: βDo I really need this?β
